Biography

Sally’s specialities included restoring neglected old gardens and creating thrilling new urban jungles, theme courtyards, family spaces, cottage and flower gardens. She is known for her harmonious use of colour, and soft, comfortable gardens. Her aim is to keep the design, formal or informal, as plain and practical as possible, while always blending in with the natural environment.

She now primarily works on a consultative basis only, mainly to a few large estates.

Salling is a founding member of the GLDA.

Design Qualifications

Sally studied horticulture at the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin and at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, London, and then went on to an MSc. Agr. Environmental Resource Management at University College Dublin.
