Membership Plans

Student Membership is for anyone enrolled in a registered certified course in any discipline.  For those studying in the design and horticultural industry, this category can be used as a spring board to Pre-Registered membership.

Pre-Reg Membership is for designers setting out on their professional career path. They may be a Pre-Reg Member for up to 3 years as they gain experience. Pre-Reg Members are also assisted in putting together a portfolio for assessment by an external panel of experts. If successful, they are then welcomed as Full Members.

Full Members are professionals who successfully pass the assessment and may use MGLDA after their name, or MGLDA (Overseas) if based outside the island of Ireland. They are included in the Designer’s Directory on the GLDA website and may avail of opportunities to promote their business on the GLDA stand at events and via the association’s social media and PR opportunities.

Fellow Members are Full Members who have served 7 or more years on Council, or who remain as members for over 20 years. They may use FGLDA after their name.

Corporate Membership is open to the landscape industry as a whole to help promote their products, services and plants to Full Members, the rest of the GLDA membership and the general public through the website, practical workshops and the GLDA annual seminar.

Any person with an interest in gardening, whether living in Ireland or abroad, may become a Friend / Overseas Friend of the GLDA.

See the grid below for the main benefits of each membership category.
