Fintan graduated from the National Botanic Gardens in 1993 and went on to develop a career in horticulture and landscape industries. Included in his varied experiences was his time spent in nurseries and garden centres, estate management, interiors, plantscaping and most notably  a number of years spent as a park’s supervisor in South Dublin County Council, giving him an insight into large scale landscape developments and installations.

In 2002 Fintan set up his own landscape and design business, Cutting Edge Landscapes Ltd, concentrating primarily on residential design and build projects of various sizes. In 2004 he took part in the Garden Heaven Show in the RDS (The precursor to BLOOM) where he was contracted to build several of the display gardens. Fintan subsequently returned to academic study in 2006 and again in 2011 to finally attain an honours degree in Horticulture at TU Dublin. In 2016 he returned once again to complete a Masters in Environmental Protection in Sligo IT. The knowledge which he gained now plays a pivotal role in all his landscape design and build operations and has given him a huge insight into the function landscape designers must play in environmental restoration, habitat creation and biodiversity enhancement.

The work undertaken comprises of garden consultancy, full landscape planning, project management and a full spectrum of garden build operations. Fintan does, if required, oversee the entirety of a project, start to finish.

Fintan is passionate about creating outdoor spaces that satisfy the combined functionality of practical client use, aesthetic appeal and environmental sensitivity, aimed at protecting and enhancing biodiversity, particularly in urban landscapes and above all fulfilling client aspirations.
