Projects

Cherrywood Housing and Town Centre Scheme

As part of enabling works for a housing development in Cherrywood, Co Dublin, a structural tree soil was required for linear tree pits. The site had in-situ soil available to be re-used in this project. Enrich planned and designed a soil blend that met the structural and nutrient requirements, water holding and drainage properties desired.

Key Highlights

  • A soil resource survey to evaluate the soil already on site
  • The in-situ soil was used to produce a sandy loam soil and sand
  • Nutrient and organic matter deficiencies were rectified with addition of compost
  • Soil blends were designed based on tests carried onsite

Impacts

  • 1200 m3 of structural tree soil and 500 m3 of sand meeting the recommendations was produced on site, by reusing the in-situ resources
  • Savings of approx. €20K for the contractor was achieved, since import of topsoil was not required
  • Avoided potential disposal costs for excess on site soil

I have used Enrich products for a number of years on various projects from small scale domestic gardens to large scale urban landscape projects. Enrich offer a variety of quality and sustainable products, such as organic, peat-free compost or light-weight green roof soil. Enrich also provide a soil consultation service, offering soil analysis and design of site specific soil blends, addressing the physical and biological aspects of the soil.

I have used Enrich for over 10 years. Their screened topsoil blend with organic compost is a quality product. It provides the right amount of nutrients for establishing the roll out lawns. Enrich products are a great compliment to my customers and their projects.
