Founded in 2017, by Kloe Wood Lyndorff & Adam Carveth, Two Green Shoots create gardens, feasts and escapes that nourish people and places.

The team specalises in edible landscapes and wildlife friendly spaces that are planted with the planet as much as people in mind. Their gardens celebrate materials gathered as close to sites as possible (if not in them already!) and support expert craftspeople from carpenters to metal workers. Their gardens give you the chance to experience the wonders of the wild by bringing it closer to home, whether it be with a hedge full of berries for the birds or a relaxing pond to sit and watch dragonflies fly by.

Bringing together diverse skill sets and experience from formal horticultural and design training with the Royal Horticultural Society and an academic grounding in Zoology, Conservation and Sustainability with practical hands-on skills – including Permaculture Design, Estate and Historic Garden Management with the National Trust, community gardening, horticultural therapy and ancient crafts from living willow work to dry-stone walling – the team offer a unique and forward-thinking approach to breathing life into spaces.

Their showcase garden – The Garden of Re-Imagination – is an open air-sketch pad of design ideas and the opportunity to re-imagine what’s possible for green spaces big and small. This edible garden paradise is open for tasting between May and September as part of the West Cork Garden Trail, with botanical themed accommodation nestled inside the grounds.

Whether you’re looking for initial ideas and inspiration to get started, detailed plans or the implementation of a design – Two Green Shoots can help!  They offer four different design packages, taking you from concept to completion available individually or together depending on you and your project needs.

Their Design & Plan service (Package 3) has proved hugely popular with its unique ‘Design Realisation Guide’ taking you through every step in making the design a reality!  While the design costs a bit more initially, it will save you a lot of money on labour by giving you the practical guidance on how to create, enjoy and maintain all elements in your design yourself.  By getting stuck in, you develop a close relationship with your garden, deep satisfaction in seeing the space come to life and an in-depth knowledge of how to care for it. If there are any elements you would rather hand over from implementation of specific features or maintenance, the team can step in to help.

Glengarriff Hilltop Haven

A home from home to soak up the fresh air and share feasts with family and friends. Two Green Shoots worked with the clients and their family to transform a 3/4 acre site into eight distinct gardens. Taking inspiration from spectacular views across Glengarriff Bay, to weave the space together through a series of curves, waves and an elegant planting palate of both edible and wildlife friendly botanicals. The final gardens include: An Island Seating Space, The Bay View, A Wild Play Space, An Orchard, A Glamping Garden, A Lodge Garden, A Spa Garden, A Feasting Garden and Kitchen Garden.

Woodland Courtyard

Two Green Shoots was tasked with transforming an unsightly bin amd storage yard into a relaxing extension of a gallery space for displaying artwork while celebrating and giving back to nature.  With a tiny budget and just two weeks until opening, the team designed and delivered exactly that, using reclaimed materials and features that could also be easily moved in the event the business ever relocated. With potted crab apple trees feeding pollinators in Spring and birds in the Autumn, a miniature wildlife pond, lush woodland-inspired planting, soft mulch surfacing and a peaceful seating space at its heart.

Bantry Smallholding

A couple of young professionals’ keen to roll their sleeves up and transform two acres of land into their dream smallholding, but no idea where or how to start. Two Green Shoots came on board to craft a design master plan with an accompanying ‘Realisation Guide’, giving the clients a clear, structured breakdown of every element of design from planting to paths and how and when to make it all happen.  The clients have already planted an extensive orchard, constructed a dramatic stumpery seating circle with next phases including a food forest, cut flower garden and spa garden complete with swimming lake.

Advice on maximising biodiversity, composting, water-conservation, seasonal planting, pruning and relocating existing plants was invaluable. My new plan allows for practical improvements I can undertake in the short, medium and longer terms, with a revised layout I love and which I feel is achievable. I now feel energised to tackle the area!

Co Limerick

Two Green Shoots delivered a design that was ambitious, functional, beautifully designed, but best of all achievable. Thanks to the Design Realisation Guide we were able to begin work immediately. We’re so excited to complete this project and can’t wait to get the team back for our next two acres!

Bantry, Co Cork

Two Green Shoots ticked all the boxes for us! We got a very practical guide on how to transform our garden, what materials or plants to use, costings for everything and the order in which to complete things. We’ve noticed a huge increase in wildlife in the garden already!
