QQI LEVEL 6 – LANDSCAPE DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION
Commencing January 2021
This course is primarily aimed at people involved in the Landscaping sector who are looking to develop their practical skills and landscape design knowledge.
The course will be offered by the Teagasc College of Amenity Horticulture National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin; over a 16 week period commencing in early January until the end of June 2021. The module will be delivered through a blended learning model where design studio and assessments occur online, with practical sessions being facilitated at our Teagasc, Ashtown site. A structured timetable allows learners to plan their time, accommodating their current position within the landscaping sector.
Learners will enhance and develop their skills in key areas such as: the landscape design process, plant material, components of landscape features and how they work in design. The practical elements of the
course include the construction of walls, water and timber features.
The construction of a student show garden is another key feature of this course where students collaborate and build a student demonstration garden at our Teagasc, Ashtown site.
