Biography
Peter has been designing gardens for more than 20 years, first in the Netherlands and now in Ireland, his home since 1988. Besides working on private projects for residential, corporate and local authority clients, Peter runs his own bamboo nursery in Co Waterford. He uses strong architectural lines and whatever landscaping materials the site calls for, but plants are his main medium. “I like to use bold, mature architectural plants to create the framework.” Peter’s recent projects include ongoing development of a 20 acre naturalistic garden in Co Kerry, complete with ancient woodlands and water cascades, a sensory and training garden for people with special needs in Waterford, contemporary private gardens and revitalizing established garden. Peter is a Founder member of the GLDA, has served on the Council, and is a Director of the Association.
Design Qualifications
Peter is a graduate of the Horticultural College in Boskoop, Holland.
